Reversi Squared is now 'Reversi Prodigy'. We've added lots of new features to convert the program from Freeware to Shareware and the extra effort should show! Chess Squared is still going strong as well. As of today we're well over 6,250 downloads and counting!  Check them both out on the main page.

The Beta version of Reversi Squared is now available for those that are interested in testing it. If you would like to be a beta tester email us here.

Nerdtopia lives!!!!

Delays, delays, delays.. that is the life of a game getting ready for production. After fighting scheduling conflicts, redesigns, and a 102 degree fever over the weekend (I'm feeling much better now, thank you) I can finally get you an update on the workings of Nerdtopia:

Reversi Squared - I've got it about 90% coded. Basically I've just got some tweaks with the network play and AI before it goes out to beta. You should be hearing more about this program very soon.

Checkers Squared - I'm holding this one off until I get a good implementation for it. It's on the backburner unless I find an overwhelming demand. I might put this out after chess squared 3.0.

Chess Squared - 2950+ Downloads!!! Though, quite frankly, it's getting difficult to tell how many downloads are out there. Chess Squared links have spread to 25+ sites, some of which are hosting the program and some of which are not. I expect to hit 3,000 tomorrow.

I never knew there were that many people nerdy enough to want to play an 8x8x8 chess program. I've been making up a "to do" list for Chess Squared 3.0. Since this game seems to be so popular, I'm probably going to work on it after Reversi Squared comes out.

More to come....

2000+ downloads of Chess Squared and lots of new players are coming each day. I'm still working on Checkers Squared and hope to be able to give you an update on Reversi Squared as well. There's some tweaking that needs to be done to the Checkers Squared rules. Mainly I need to figure out what happens when there's only a few peices left on the board (since there's a ton of escape routs on an 8x8x8 board). Reversi is a bit more straight forward, so don't be surprised if that program comes out first.

I'm hoping to get beta testers for each program. If you're interested just email and let me know. While beta testing you'll get a chance to add your input to the development of the new programs and help speed up the releases too! I'll probably put the betas out on the main website as well, but you won't see them on other sites until the've been fully tested.

Another news update should come this weekend.

We're sitting pretty at around 1300 downloads now. I'm busy working on Reversi Squared and Checkers Squared. I've got another program in the pipe that could be coming as soon as this week as well. Keep checking back for more updates.

New games coming!!!

I am happy to report that we're at 800+ downloads of Chess Squared! About 90 new people a day are finding out what it's like to play chess on an 8x8x8 board. I'm currently in development of a second "squared" game (hint of what it is in the forums) that should be ready to come out in the next couple of weeks. Also, Nerdtopia has gotten exclusive hold of ANOTHER game that should be available  even earlier! Of course, in the meantime you can always play with GEN.I.E. 2.0. or check out the links page. I added another dozen or so links today just for you!

                                    WATCH THIS SPACE!

Feel free to contact me if you want to get more involved. Send your pictures, games, tournament ideas  and links. Share with everyone your nerdy side! *original content only please*.

Finally, don't forget to visit our forums. I check them every day and will be happy to answer any of your questions.

Chess Squared Tournament???

Are we at 500+ downloads of Chess Squared already? Hard to imagine that I posted on download.com a mere one week ago. Now that we've got some people playing I was thinking we need to have a way for interested players to find each other. I've therefore put a "Tournaments" section in the forums. We can talk about schedule, time controls, brackets, and what we want to call the winner.

I've noticed the forum has been pretty empty, despite the fact that the site is getting lots of traffic (and getting more popular every day). I guess nobody wants to put in th first few posts. Don't be shy!!! Introduce yourself, tell me what I'm doing right (and wrong, in the kindest, nicest way possible). I'd love to hear from all of you!

A happy Easter to all! It's been a busy week here at NerdTopia. Chess Squared has been entered into Download.com and I'm happy to report that we've been approaching 300 downloads! Not too bad, considering I misspelled the title *smacks forehead*... I've already submitted the proper changes, but these things take time. You can find a link to that download here.

The next logical question is.. .what's next? Chess squared 2.5? Or maybe even a 3.0? Checkers squared anyone? Perhaps I should concentrate on GEN.I.E. 2.0 more. Go to the forums and let me know what you think!

GEN.I.E. 2.0 is now in Alpha. Anyone interested in a community based NLP program should check out how I did it here. The site has gone through quite a few graphical changes lately and I hope to further upgrade all of the pages.
